Product Safety & Compliance

SHELVING - LOADING CAPACITY

It is not possible to set definitive guidance on maximum weights that wall supported shelving will support. The strength of the shelving will depend upon the type of wall material, fixings, number of vertical supports, shelf material and the eventual load applied.

Never let children climb or hang on display equipment.

Where a maximum loading capacity is not known a common-sense approach is required. Place heaviest items on the lower shelf.

Compatible brackets mut be used with correct shelving to reduce the risk of serious injury and/or death.

WALL UPRIGHT / COLUMN - LOADING CAPACITY

Please only use Robert May compatible backing fixings with Robert May wall uprights/columns. A minimum of two back fixings must be used per column, where heavy loads are going to be used use your discretion and use three or more back fixings per upright.

As wall materials vary, screws for fixing to wall are not included in any of our equipment. Use screw(s) and plug(s) suitable for your walls.
